One Advisor & Twice the Advice™
All financial planners are not created equal. We believe an effective relationship is built on a commitment to personal attention and old-fashioned service. When you call our number, you will reach our team directly; not an assistant, not a customer service rep and not a call center. When you send us an email, you will get a timely response. Chesapeake Financial Advisors offers the following suite of services:
We are independent and offer objective advice in all areas of our firm. 46% of wealthy households now use an independent advisory firm as their primary financial relationship versus 35% using a broker. The reason is because they feel they receive more objective advice and a comprehensive suite of services. (Charles Schwab White Papers)
We believe that providing advice should be comprehensive and real-time.
Not all financial planners are created equal and we have the powerful combination of extensive tax expertise and comprehensive knowledge of financial planning.
We will develop a goal-based plan that provides strategies to address all areas of your financial life including tax planning, asset accumulation, education funding, real estate, and retirement distribution planning. All these areas of your life are interrelated and should be addressed in one plan with one advisor.
But it’s not all about the numbers…how about care for loved ones and strategies to make sure your bills get paid if you get sick? That’s truly comprehensive.
We believe your financial planner, investment adviser, and tax advisor should be the same person that has the acumen and depth of knowledge of your personal situation to advise you in all areas of your financial life.
Completion time: 2-3 weeks
We will implement a customized and individually managed investment strategy based on our proprietary and independent investment research. We invest for the long-term by establishing asset allocations and adjust those allocations upon the changing circumstances and objectives of our clients, not on the vagaries of short-term market fluctuations.
We will create a comprehensive dashboard for you so that you will have one source for all your investment accounts. With the ability to aggregate account data from more than 10,000 financial institutions, we provide a complete picture for clients. This wide coverage of accounts includes investment, retirement, banking, insurance, 529s, 401(k), 403(b), annuities, REITs and TSP, as well as the mortgage, loans, bills, and other liabilities.
Investors expect to receive advice that is tailored to their personal financial goals. Yet many other advisors lack the reliable information they need to understand how non-managed accounts are performing. By providing a holistic view of clients’ assets and liabilities, we facilitate richer, more informed financial guidance than other advisors.
As a fee-only investment advisor, we are not influenced by conflicts of interest. We charge only an asset based investment advisory fee so that our compensation is directly linked to the value of your investment portfolio. We do not sell products and do not receive commissions.
We use an independent custodian to hold your assets and you will receive monthly reports directly from the custodian and transaction statements every time we make a trade decision in your account.
Completion time: 2-3 weeks
When evaluating financial planners, we encourage you to ask if they can offer tax advice. We do and integrate that advice into all of our financial plans. We have a CPA, Enrolled Agent and Senior Level Accountants on staff through our subsidiary Taylor & Company because you should have One Advisor Twice The Advice™. Through Taylor & Co, we provide tax return preparation and planning services. Tom has been a CPA for over 20 years and is often asked by clients if he can review and do their tax and accounting work. Tom is credentialed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants as a Personal Financial Specialist (PFS) which indicates his experience and expertise in providing both tax and financial planning advice.
Tax advice and financial planning advice go hand and hand and this is just one more example of how we put the interests of our clients ahead of our own. By combining these services we get better and more in-depth knowledge of a client’s financial house than any one CFP, CPA or financial advisor could do on their own. By integrating services we save our clients’ money and more importantly, time!
